Ladies Winter League 2011 Final

The Ladies 4th team travelled to Greystones last Sunday, 27th March 2011 to play in the Winter League 2011 Final knowing they were up against it playing Clontarf 3. However, they went out with a steely determination to do well, played some great tennis and were very narrowly beaten 2-0. Mary Hughes and Susan Ward went down to the wire in their match and lost in a tie-break in the 3rd set just as Roisin Wallace and Ger Ryan had matchpoint at 5/4 in their 3rd set!

Well done Ladies you did your club proud and, hopefully what is just the first league pennant of 2011 is now hanging proudly behind the bar!!

The team on the day were:
Susan Ward and Mary Hughes, Marj Flood and Rita Hayes and Ger Ryan and Roisin Wallace (Captain).

Throughout the campaign the ladies were very ably assisted by some great subs in their run to the final so a big thank you to Sorcha Raoof, Mairead Corcoran, Sinead Horan, Jill O'Farrell and Marie McGee for their contribution.

Thanks also to those who travelled to Greystones to support the team. Your presence was greatly appreciated.
